What is a spout bag?

A spout bag, also known as a spouted pouch or stand-up pouch with a spout, is a flexible packaging solution commonly used for various liquid, semi-liquid, and powder products.

Common Issues Faced by Many New Clients

When purchasing spout bag for the first time, many new clients want to quickly understand the prices of pouches and packaging machines to expedite bringing this packaging to market. However, they often encounter detours: some first approach pouch suppliers, others first approach packaging machine suppliers, only to find that the spout bag and packaging machines they sourced are incompatible. This leads to repeated inquiries and a significant loss of time, while their competitors have already launched spout pouch packaging and captured market share.

Why does this problem occur?

Clients lack sufficient knowledge about this type of packaging and cannot determine the correct sequence for inquiries. Furthermore, spout bag suppliers usually provide quotes only and do not offer comprehensive consultation or tailored solutions.

It is necessary to clearly understand the relationship between spout bag types, packaging contents, packaging volume, and one’s production requirements.

1 – Determine the pouch type:

First, select a pouch type based on your product characteristics (e.g., liquid, semi-liquid, powder, or granules).

(1) Liquids and semi-liquids: all pouch types are suitable

(2) Powders or granules: only corner spout bag are suitable

Next, narrow down based on packaging volume:

(1) Under 1000 ml or g: all pouch types are suitable

(2) 1000 ml or g and above: only corner spout pouches are suitable

Finally, provide the spout bag supplier with the pouch type, packaging contents, packaging volume, and order quantity (determined by your production needs). They will quote based on the corresponding pouch type.

2 – Determine the packaging machine type

First, choose a machine type based on your product characteristics (e.g., liquid, semi-liquid, powder, or granules).

(1) Liquids and semi-liquids: suitable for spout pouch filling and capping machines or pouch filling and sealing machines

(2) Powders or granules: only suitable for pouch filling and sealing machines

1000-5000 ml or g

≤3000 ml or g

Next, refine by packaging volume and production scale:

(1) Less than 5000 ml or g, high production volume

– ≤300 ml or g:

– 350-1000 ml or g:

– 1000-5000 ml or g:

(2) Up to 3000 ml or g, medium to low production volume:

Finally, provide the machine supplier with the spout bag type, packaging contents, packaging volume, and packaging speed requirements (based on your production needs). They will quote according to the appropriate machine type.
